Presented for auction is a COPY of a 1964 NASA Letter from Edward H. White II.
It's dated August 7, 1964 and on NASA Stationary with their logo - letterhead in blue.
The letter is in reply to John A. Fischbach, whom had written to White requesting a photograph, along
with some specific questions. The questions are addressed and answered in this letter.
The content of this letter is Incredible... because White writes of possible problems or hazards the
astronauts might encounter. He shows complete confidence that between themselves, scientists, and engineers,
there are NONE beyond their capabilities to effectively or successfully control.
Unfortuately, on January 27, 1967, He died with fellow astronauts "Gus" Grissom and Roger Chaffee in the Apollo 1
fire at Kennedy Space Center, Florida. We currently own the Original, that was purchased from R&R Enterprises
Auction Company. This is a COPY of the original. The copy has been professionally created on Fine Linen Paper (contains
25% Cotton with watermark). Looks much better in-person and would be a nice addition to any Space collection,
especially matted and framed.
