An *Important Note* for My Friends of the Needle....
What makes purchasing from April 1930's, Sewing - Artistic and Practical different? "A Stitch In Time Saves Nine"; that is what is different. My husband and I provide assurance that all machines, attachments, and accessories are rust-free, working properly and ready to use. Each one is serviced, oiled, tested, and sampled, if necessary, for reliability. (We regularly have defective attachments and parts that have to be discarded because a tiny part or piece inside has worn out.) In all appearances these vintage collectibles and sewing instruments can look perfect, but it is of most importance that you have one that works perfectly. You will have the immediate gratification of purchasing, receiving and using your new-to-you vintage sewing collectible. The Walking Foot
Designed to fit the Singer Featherweight . . . . Look!
See how the "Walking" feet teeth are in line with the Featherweight feed dogs? Perfect!
Featherweight Stitchery Friends ~ as you know, I've been very skeptical of the 'new' Walking Feet available on the market today...
but I found one that is not only economically poignant but is perfectly aligned to the fit the Featherweight 221 and 222!
I was so happy!
Before getting too excited, I had to test it first (as with everything from April 1930's) to make sure it would work well for my Quilt-making customers.
I was pleasantly surprised and overjoyed, to be honest, to be able to offer something that was more readily available and cost-effective!
Until I can test this new Walking Foot on other model machines, or until I receive feedback from you, my Stitchery Friends, as it is tested on your other vintage Singer Sewing Machine models, I can only knowingly represent this as fitting the Singer Featherweight 221 and 222K.

It even has a guide which can fit in either direction for straight-stitching with other quilting lines.
With your Walking Foot, you can stitch "hard-to-feed" fabrics with no slipping, sticking or mis-matching. Perfect for smooth, even seams, this foot is also ideal for flawless topstitching.

Hint 1: Where pattern matching has to be perfect... Use a slightly shorter stitch than usual.
Hint 2: When sewing smooth, shiny fabrics... Use a slightly longer stitch than usual.

You can use the foot without the guide, too!
So, if you have been wanting a good new walking foot, but have been disillusioned by other Walking Feet claiming to be the 'right' fit for the Featherweight 221 and 222 when they turned out to be misfits.... well, look no further... you've finally found one here. |

Dear Friends of the Needle,
....We are friends because we all know one thing in common, that is, the joy of the needle, that little one-eyed help-meet, that will act as a vent for all those artistic feelings that demand outlet and expression in the form of making and doing things.
What a big family we are, all wielders of the little sewing needle, the knitting needle, the crochet hook and the machine needle in its multiplicity of forms, from the very fine one that will sew the gossamer frock of the little girl’s fancy dress, to the heirloom quilt, to the sturdy member that sews our leather gloves and shoes. Truly, they are one-eyed helpmeets that have added to our comforts and helped us to make progress through this busy world.
But if the machine needles had not been harnessed to good reliable instruments, so that they could work in the quickest and neatest way, they could not have done so much good, and that is why we, as needle workers, are grateful to the age-old Sewing Machine Companies for giving us that vintage instrument and in turn, giving it a beautiful setting with which to work.
We also have to be thankful for the vintage service of instruction, so that even those with basic knowledge can be taught how to make the most of their machine and its wonderful attachments.
Now you have the privilege of purchasing vintage books and instruction on how to make, mend and design, with professional tips, all of which would cost a large sum if you took lessons in the ordinary way. Here you have the written word that remains, as well as illustrations and diagrams making every point clear. It is my privilege to impart some of that knowledge to you and it is a joy to know from your letters that it has helped women in some of the loneliest corners of the world. The word “Sewing” and all it conveys is beyond description in this limited space.
My special message to you is - be a Singer Sewer and your troubles are o'er. You can have pretty, smart frocks, dainty underwear and house-linen, and little Jack and Mary can be well and comfortably dressed without encroaching too much on the family exchequer.
