This frame has three plastic domes for placement of 3 sorting manipulatives at a time to serve as a foil when listening to the audio soundtrack, or for evaluation purposes. You will need to pop out the foam insert and place manipulatives inside as you see fit. *This new bubble frame with the row vs. triangular shape is extremely versatile and can be used to teach opposites and a variety of other spatial concepts beyond what this particular "Logic & Reasoning" exercise outlines.

~~This kit is so versatile. The objects in this auction can be used for instructional or evaluative purposes, but are intended to be used in a one-on-one format between teacher or parent and the child. Adults should read aloud all instructions. When the child provides an answer, they should say the words aloud as they point to identify the items/sounds in the kit. Again, these kits were designed to promote auditory processing, logic & reasoning, attentive listening skills in regard to receptive language, association & recall with or without the help of visual clues, simple sorting and matching skills with preschool age children. These kits may also address cognitive skills, Dexterity/Fine Motor skills, One-to-One correspondence, counting, hand-eye coordination, visual acuity and much more... The possibilities are endless. One thing is certain, your child will feel a sense of accomplishment after being engaged in these activities only a few times. You can adapt the kit to add a bilingual component as well, if you desire due to the universal nature of sounds.
Although the chart is laminated, it is a cold lamination, so you may choose to relaminate it with a hot lamination source to preserve it even longer. I have used simple sorting tools with my son--he thinks they are fun and silly matching games and he quickly enjoyed hearing each different sound, which signalled the manipulative that he would identify, and match to the correspondence grid. We have used this kit and the others that I have listed for sale this week in so many different ways, but the methods that worked best are outlined/listed on the Instruction sheet. I believe half the fun for him was seeing success quickly after locating each one of the sorting manipulatives and anticipating the next sound he would hear. His attentive listening and recall have definately improved due to the repetition of the sounds. He received positive reinforcement after each item was identified, matched and placed onto their respective icon on the auditory correspondence grids/charts. It was an excellent fine motor workout for him. Plus, the sorting/matching manipulatives are easy to grip with intriguing picture icons/details on them, which kids just love. We have had tons of fun with this simple auditory matching & sorting activity and think that you will too.
~~Just a side note, simple sorting activities such as this one allow children to use process skills, which helps them organize the world around them. In this activity animal manipulatives/erasers can be sorted and matched by their picture with or without the aide of the auditory CD soundtrack, counted (number and numeral identification & recognition) and placed into the storage case to signal start and stop of the activity (fine motor/dexterity with lid closure), listening comprehension and according to the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), they support the use of simple sorting and classifying activities within early childhood learning environments. Because of my involvement with early learning/preschool learning environments, I have used and tested many of these types of activities and think that you will enjoy it too. From ages 3-up, we have had so much fun with this set, that it has been worth a great deal. My son has loved the hands-on nature and colorful visual clues/pictures/images, and just loves placing his manipulatives back into the storage case. Please note~~your kit is new and the items have not been played with.
