The stone was mined in Australia in the Coober Pedy area and is the high quality A grade. The colors from this stone are really incredible, from emerald green, to ruby red, to golden yellow, blues and oranges. It is truly amazing that this many colors come from one stone. Opal triplets are made up of 3 parts, a slice of high quality crystal or white opal with a hard crystal top and a black backing. This makes them very durable for everyday wear. The ring is solid heavy sterling silver made in the USA and weighs approximately 11 grams. The gem is different colors in different light sources and the play of color is outstanding. The ring is very hard to photograph and so much better in person. The gem itself is 18 mm X 13 mm and is approx 6 ct. The the ring is a size 11.
