B IS FOR BLOOD DVD! TWO GREAT HORROR FEATURES! 2 DISC SET! BLACK SABBATH with BORIS KARLOFF QUEEN OF BLOOD! with Dennis Hopper, John Saxon, Basil Rathbone Another double-feature of horror classics introduced by horror host LON MADNIGHT as another offering in the CRYPT OF HORROR DVD series. First, there is QUEEN OF BLOOD; a rarely-seen mid-1960's film from writer /director Curtis Harrington that mixes the traditional vampire's blood-drinking with a "mod" science-fiction setting. Set far in the "future" (1990!!!), a space crew journeys to Mars to search for a lost party of astronauts marooned there. Upon arrival, the only living being they find is a green-skinned female alien... but NO human survivors. Then...HORROR happens!! Starring BASIL RASTHBONE, JOHN SAXON, DENNIS HOPPER, JUDI MEREDITH and FLORENCE MARLY as The Queen. Watch for FORREST J ACKERMAN in a camero! Produced by George Edwards, originally released in full Pathe Color in 1966, it's running time is 81 minutes. Then, it's Mario Bava's BLACK SABBATH- three tales of terror served as a heady brew concocted by the Italian master of stylish horror films, Mario Bava... THE WURDALAK- A Young man (MARK DAMON) travelling Eastern Europe more than a century ago passes into the half-world of the living dead. In an attempt to save a beautiful young woman (SUSY ANDERSEN ) from a gruesome fate, he becomes the target of the girl's father, Gorka (BORIS KARLOFF ), now a vampire determined to destroy those he loves most. Next, it's THE DROP OF WATER, a masterful piece of atmospheric horror in which a greedy nurse steals from her dead charge and then is terrorized by the old woman's ghastly apparition. And finally, THE TELEPHONE, wherin a young woman (MICHELE MERCIER ) alone at night and fearing for her life is jolted again and again by the ringing telephone...and the eerie prescence of a fiendish strangler. This is the American release color version, and it runs 96 minutes. This two-disc set is presented regions-free, in NTSC format, on two discs, and should be playable on any standard DVD player. Interactive menus with scene selections. Used but like new condition. Great box art and QUALITY picture and sound! |
