Miller Harris was born June 19th, 1974 to parents Judy and William Harris, and his sweet disposition was apparent right from the start. As a baby he was never any trouble (that would come later); however, at the age of three he was diagnosed with asthma, and after enduring a regiment of allergy shots to pinpoint his specific intolerance, he began his lifelong ordeal with the ultimately fatal condition
Regretfully, Miller’s infectious good-natured spirit passed into the hands of Jesus on September 11th, 1999, after a fatal asthma attack; he was only 25 years of age. Miller was a member of St. Paul Southern Methodist Church and he participated in the Bible Study Fellowship. Those who knew Miller regarded him as an angel, a saint, a goof, a friend, a kind spirit and a loving soul, and he especially endeared himself to Nashville’s singer-songwriters.
Miller held God, family and friends above all else, and if there is a common thread among those who speak of him still, it is that “he could make you laugh.” No doubt he could make you cry too, but his was a selfless and genuinely good heart, and he is sorely missed by all
Established in 2002, the Miller Harris Foundation is a nonprofit (501c3) organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for children with asthma and students interested in the music industry. At present, much of the Foundation’s funding is focused on the Miller Harris Asthma Camp for Kids, the only asthma camp in Middle Tennessee, but we also offer a variety of grants aimed at preserving Miller’s memory and helping others.
All proceeds from this and all other Miller Harris auctions will go directly to the Miller Harris Foundation.

MILLER HARRIS ASTHMA CAMP FOR KIDS
The Miller Harris Foundation in partnership with Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt and the Joe C. Davis YMCA Outdoor Center has established the Miller Harris Asthma Camp for Kids, a unique five-day summer camp experience for children ages 6-13 with asthma whose health has made it difficult for them to attend a regular summer camp. On-site medical supervision by teams of volunteer physicians, nurses and respiratory therapists is provided to help monitor the campers throughout the day and teach them how to better manage their asthma with daily educational sessions. A camp activity staff, expertly oriented to meet the specialized needs of the asthmatic, coordinates a program, which includes arts and crafts, archery, hiking, games, swimming, and more. The goal is to convince our campers to optimize their abilities, have fun, and learn. The Foundation sponsors severe asthmatic children to attend this camp free of charge
