It is used to set the teeth on a band saw blade for sawmills. If you sharpen your own saw blades, then you need this tool! You set every 3^rd tooth in one direction, the next series of every third the other direction, and leave the other 3^rd series without a set. You need not adjust the degree once you start setting the teeth -- leave them all the same degree all the way around. This tooth setter is adjustable, so you can use it for different blades with different sets. You don’t need multiple setters -- just this one!
