This great, very rare CD is brand new sealed! Same day shipping upon payment! This is a great CD. 8
Quality New and Pre-Owned CD's. I try to buy the highest quality pre-owned cd's for my customers. We spend many hours searching for the best pre-owned cds from top-notch record dealers and wholesalers in our area. Many of the cds we sell are in new or like new condition and some are still factory sealed (will be noted). Our cds are sometime marked in some way by the supplier, either with a hole punch through the bar code, a cut through a side of the jewel case or a pen mark on the package itself. These marks do not in any way affect the play ability of the cd. I replace any jewel case with major damage (i.e. major cracks, broken ears, etc.). All cover art is present unless otherwise noted. Please contact me with any concerns before leaving feedback so we can resolve them. Customer satisfaction is my goal and I appreciate your business! Payment please in 5 days of auction close. Thanks!
WILL SHIP SAME DAY FIRST CLASS USA FOR $2.95 AND WORLDWIDE $5.99

U.K.
rockers the Bees (known stateside as A Band of Bees) maintain their
sunny, whimsical mix of psychedelia, Britpop, and funky rhythms on
their third album, OCTOPUS. As ever, virtually no other band can
convincingly combine '70s "rare-groove" beats, roots reggae, and indie
rock like these buzzing boundary-smashers. Rich organ, powerful horn
section, sparkling guitars, oddball sound effects, and lush vocal
harmonies are powered by a fresh-faced sense of enthusiasm that is
simply undeniable.

U.K. rockers the Bees (known stateside as A Band of
Bees) maintain their sunny, whimsical mix of psychedelia, Britpop, and
funky rhythms on their third album, OCTOPUS. Unrepentant in their embrace of the hippy dippy and the skanking, a
Band of Bees certainly puts a lot of curves in that embrace. The
minor-key shuffle of "Got to Let Go" has just enough lo-fi haze to
sound as if it's being beamed from outer space--horns playing
quick-riff lines against the Fender Rhodes piano and organ vibrations
while the guitar clinks along with the languid doubled vocals. It
sounds peachy, a multidisciplinary launch from a stoner's loft. And the
ensemble's doo-wop and old-school soul fascinations are as strong as
their reggae bent, creating a great turn for harmony vocals--especially
on "Listening Man" but also on the organ-fueled, blues-tinted slinker,
"Who Cares What the Question Is?" A Band of Bees bears a brand of
laconic artistry that's wholly theirs, wholly lovable.

How Can You Go Wrong?,
From beginning to end the Band Of Bees exude swagger and cool. Their
first three albums, in which Octopus is a part of, is about as good a
start to a recording career as I have ever heard. Their music sounds
like a summit of the Beatles, Marvin Gaye,Lee Scratch Perry and Brian
Wilson(as they pass a spliff around). Their retro sound is more of a
fusion of old school soul, reggae, pop and classic rock than mimicking
any particular sound, making it pure bliss. NO DOWNERS HERE. Stand outs
though are Left Foot Stepdown, Who Care's What The Question Is, Got To
Let Go and This Is For The Better Days(although if you sign up on their
website you get a free download of this song mixed by Ashley Beedle,
which is even better than this one). With the summer coming up, you
really can't outdo this band in general to groove to while your window
is down, enjoying life. Perfect blend of deep texture and simple
pleasure.I recommend ALL THREE ALBUMS; Sunshine Hit Me, Free The Bees
and Octopus. Simply awesome band(MANY TREASURES AWAIT YOU BEHIND THIS DOOR! )

ROLLING STONE BIO The Bees emerged in 2001, as the creative project of friends Paul
Butler (vocals, guitar) and Aaron Fletcher (bass). Established in Isle
of Wight, U.K., the duo involves within its creations joyful sounds of
Latin grooves, funky beats and classical rock references, eventually
conceiving a unique blend of electro-pop tunes. Still in 2001, the
two-team offered its debut EP, Punchbag. The record first showed their
lively and beaming creations and also a sensible Brazilian sound
influence, namely by their cover version of a "A Minha Menina", an
original themes of Os Mutantes. In 2002, and again on the We Love You
Records label, the group delivered Sunshine Hit Me, their first
full-length record.
GREAT REVIEW, GREAT CD! 2007 release from the Isle of Wight's finest, their third album
overall. In the U.S., The Bees had to change their name to Band Of Bees
to avoid confusion with a U.S. based band with the same name. Following
on from 2004's critically acclaimed Free The Bees, Octopus sees the
Bees in top form with an eclectic mix of acoustic, Psychedelic and
melodic songs described by the band as 'A joyous blend of the first two
albums'. And so far, Octopus has received unanimous support from their
fans and has critics across Europe buzzing it's praises! 10 tracks
including the first , 'Who Cares What the Answer Is' and the stellar
Afro-Beat jam, 'Got to Let Go'. EMI. 2007.
The most intriguing collective of multiinstrumentalists since the Beta
Band first began mixing an unholy array of accompaniment, the Bees (or
A Band of Bees in America) channel some of the same '60s influences on
Octopus as on their two previous records, and a few new ones as well.
Fortunately, as usual, listeners who couldn't care less about playing a
game of spottheinfluence are rewarded just as much as those who do;
Octopus presents ten nuggets of effortless throwback pop, laidback and
breezy but tightly melodic. A trio of straightforward pop pleasers
begins the album, all with the same jaunty, freewheeling character as a
Beta Band jam (or a Kinks pastorale, for that matter). After a pair of
marvelous detours "Got to Let Go" is organcombo rock with a Caribbean
flair la Georgie Fame, while "Listening Man" echoes the high points
of blueeyed soul in the Rascals the Bees are back on track, although
perhaps even more mellow than on the first half. Although not a concept
album, Octopu...s
does often return to the nautical theme (or more generally, travel away
from home) that's de rigueur for indie rock during the 2000s, but here
too, the Bees know that too much concept and not enough music is a bad
tradeoff. Without this set of brilliant songs or the masterful way they
mix and match their instruments, the Bees wouldn't sound half as
interesting as they do; they wouldn't be anything more than a retread
of their '60s influences
