BARRY MCGUIRE STORE:THE NEW CHRISTY MINSTRELS 1994 LIVE

This is the brand NEW 2006 CD from a 1994 Summer performance recorded live in Oakhurst, California. The nine original Christy Minstrels performing are BARRY MCGUIRE, DOLAN ELLIS, LARRY RAMOS, JACKIE DAVIDSON, GAYLE CALDWELL, ART PODELL, ANN WHITE, CLARENCE TREAT, AND PAUL POTASH. The following paragraph is Barry McGuire's own words regarding this CD.

"In the summer of 1994, after thirty years of pursuing their individual careers, nine members of the New Christy Minstrels came together for a reunion concert series. One evening our sound engineer, Mark Royce, pushed the record button on a digital two-track recorder. What you hear on this CD is the result of that fortunate action. The musical magic captured on this recording is a true representation of the wonderful pleasure we all experienced on that night. None of us on stage knew we were being recorded. Had we known, we would have probably become very stiff and formal, working hard to make a polished record rather than just performing the songs from our hearts, as we normally did. The playful barter between the nine of us on stage and the joyful connection with the audience would have been lost forever had that red record button not been pushed. The amazing thing that occurs to me as I listen to this recording is how a flip-flop-flappy bunch of characters could so easily move from total chaos to producing that signature sound of the New Christy Minstrels. My deep and sincere hope is that you will have as much fun listening to this show as we had in performing it.......Barry McGuire"
