Foreword: For centuries, beads have played a vital role in the cultures of various people in Borneo. Certain beads are believed to possess spiritual power, and are used in healing rituals and community ceremonies such as weddings and funerals. Other beads indicate the wealth and status of the owner, and some have even been used as currency.

Beads Of Borneo studies the indigenous bead cultures in Sabah, Sarawak and Kalimantan and examines how the use of these artifacts have evolved from the time they were first brought to the island by Indian and Chinese traders.
