BEAUTIFUL Antique WaxedGLAZED ROMANIAN Wine Jug Pottery

#0544 Part of a group of old Romanian pottery we recently got in. SO many of the pieces broke in shipment but we went through and salvaged the ones we could. This is an old Romanian wine jug. It's the BIGGEST one in the bunch!  NO TWO are alike! You can see the others here in the Antiques & primitives category of our ebay store. From what we've been told the small holes you see inside the spout opening were to prevent the need for a cork as the holes would keep out the flies & bugs. There is some sort of marble or something inside the jug. You can hear it bang around. We can only summise that it's there to let you know when the wine is almost gone. Notice the hole on the handle. It serves as an air vent to allow the wine to flow more smoothly. BEAUTIFUL old design adorns the top half.   Just a beautiful piece that displays wonderfully. ABSOLUTELY NO Cracks or repairs.    Our dealer waxed this one to create a beautiful outside color!  This one has somehow managed to stay BEAUTIFULLY intact.
