This EXTREMELY RARE COLLECTIBLE VINTAGE GLO-DIAL “BELFAST SPARKLING WATER” NEON ELECTRIC TABLE TOP CLOCK is in excellent condition for its age, works great and letters are all intact and clear.  The face of the clock is black with white numbers, white hands, and red second hand, that is surrounded by a 1 inch black band painted on the reverse side of the glass that is black with large white lettering that reads: “BELFAST SPARKLING WATER” in white lettering.  The bezel and base of the clock is shiny chrome that is in great condition, has minor pitting and light surface scratches throughout– see pictures.  On the back of the clock is a black metal box that houses the clock motor and it reads: “GLO-DIAL CLOCK CO, LOS ANGELES, U.S.A.” and beneath that is a partial “UNION MADE” sticker.  This box has a dent in the top left corner and some paint loss –see picture.  When the clock is plugged in and running it illuminates a soft green glow from the neon light – note: this glow is actually a very consistent green color throughout.  Please note some of the pictures show an unavoidable glare from the overhead lights, camera flash and reflecting its surroundings due to the glass and chrome finish.  Dimensions: Clock face is 8 inches in diameter, Bezel - chrome portion 1 inches wide and 1 inch deep, then back painted gloss black baked enamel is 1 inch wide for a total Bezel width of 2 inches. Overall height is 10 ½ inches, 8 inches wide and 8 inches deep.

“The Glo-Dial Clock Company was based in Los Angeles, California but also produced clocks in New York. They made several of the classic styles of clocks.  The main styles they produced were clocks with a back-painted class cover, a black face, with white numbers.  They typically had green neon. They made at least two different models of the table top clock where the base of the clock differs and at least two different finishes.”

We have owned this fine collectible for over 25 years in our private collection.  This clock was displayed in a completely smoke and pet free environment.  We are in the process of downsizing, therefore are selling due to display space limitations.
