Here’s a Novel and rare addition to a Whisky related collection. A beautiful- solidly cast metal bell- advertising BELLS SCOTCH WHISKY- with the famous adage ‘AFORE YE GO’ embossed the other side. The bell clapper has a loop at the base so Id assume this once hung in bar of Tavern- and could be rung by pulling a rope or attached cord?

I cannot confirm what type of metal is used here (it isn't attracted by a magnet?) The bell does give a tremendous resounding toll and is very solid- indeed a true bell- not a tinny advertising gimmick or prop. There appears to be a brass plating of similar which has worn over time. No makers marks- just the advertising as shown. A really interesting addition to a Whisky or bell collection, and would look terrific mounted at a bar.
