send me your Betamax VCR in your own box.
I am located in Dallas, Texas.
I will examine your VCR and determine
what the problem is.
If repairs are needed I will e-mail you
with an estimate of the parts and labor needed.
I have my basic charges listed on my website.
I will not do any repair work without authorization
from you in advance.
If your VCR is not repairable or it is too expensive to repair at this time.
You pay for the return shipping and you won't owe anything else!!

NOTE:
Some Betamax VCRs may not be repairable due to
the availability of parts and technical data needed for
the repairs. Please e-mail me with the model number and description of the problem you are having with your VCR.
I can try to determine if you VCR is suitable for repairing.
Your VCR will be completely dissambeled and
all parts and mechanisms inspected.
You will then receive an estimate detailing
the repairs and parts needed.
 
The power Supply section will be inspected for old
weak out out of tolerance capacitors. Defective
components like these can cause video/audio
and display problems.

Your VCR Will be completely dissambled and
inspected. Electronic Circuits tested and tracking
set to Original Factory Specs.
Video Heads, Tape Guides and drum assembly
will be cleaned and demagnetized.

Note how the old belts are stretched out of shape
and dried out and slick. This will cause the drive wheels to
slip and will also cause the VCR to "eat" your tapes!
My Betamax is working ok. But it is getting old and I want to get it cleaned and checked out

Let's face it some of these vcrs are close to 30 years old!
Not all broken Betamax VCRs are going to be repairable.
This is due to the lack of replacement parts and
service data needed for some problems.
I have found that about 85% can be repaired.
