Roseville Carnelian II Handled Pot!


It measures 8-1/8" high, the rim is 4-5/8" in diameter and the base is 3-15/16" in diameter. The shape is bold with a well rounded body and short handles with a faint curl at bottom on either side of the tapering neck below a gently flared rim and the heavy glaze is wonderfully textured and shaded from a mellow greenish-blue background beneath patches of a lighter blue-gray-green splashed with a deep earthy golden green.




The interior of the neck has the same mottled glaze as the exterior.




The bottom is unglazed and unmarked.

Please note that
  • this piece has the usual small potting and glazing imperfections including some unevenness in the glaze and a recessed area in the glaze beneath the handle on one side - 
  • the glaze on the interior is streaked with puddles of heavier blue glaze on the lower portion of the interior sides and on the bottom - 
  • it has been used so there are faint traces of soil in the textured areas of the glaze on the interior - 
  • the rim around the unglazed bottom shows some age wear and scuffing - and
  • there is a three arm hairline on the bottom that I can't see them on the bottom of the interior
as shown in the photographs.

This fantastic pot will be a welcome addition to any collection of Vintage Roseville or American Art Pottery as well as being a dramatic accent in any Arts & Crafts, Mission Oak, Craftsman Bungalow, Rustic Lodge, Log Cabin or Sleek City Chic decor!
