FROM 1957 A RARE MONO DEEP GROOVE PRESSING ON A FLAT EDGE VINY BLANK

WITH THE ORIGINAL DECCA HALF ROUND POLY BAG BLACK AND WHITE THUMBNAIL INNER SLEEVE AS SHOWN

12 TRACKS INCLUDE TO EACH HIS OWN, SEPTEMBER SONG, WHEN IRISH EYES ARE SMILING, THE KINGDOM COME, AM I BLUE, WILL YOU REMEMBER, OH LADY BE GOOD, WHEN THE SAINTS GO MARCHING IN

THE TEXTURED FRONT COVER STOCK WITH LIGHT RUB WEAR. A SMALL OUTER LAYER LOSS ON FRONT TO LEFT OF DECCA. SPINE EDGE HAD PREVIOUS MASKING TAPE CLOSING EGDE IN CENTER, SOME REMNANTS OF IT STILL ON FRONT AS WELL AS BACK. CORNERS WITH ROUGH SPOTS ON POINT. TOP EDGE SPLIT SLEEVE SIDE ACROSS ABOUT FIVE INCHES. BACK WITH LIGHT RUB WEAR AND AGE DISCOLORATION.

VIRGIN SPINDLE HOLE. THE HIGH LUSTER VINYL BLANK WITH SOME LIGHT SURFACE RUB AND SURFACE RUB SCUFF MARKS. I'VE TEST PLAYED THIS LP ON THE VPI TURNTABLE AND PROFESSIONAL SOUND SYSTEM AND IT WAS A WONDERFUL PLAY WITHOUT NOTICE OF THE ABOVE ITEMS. QUITE VIBRANT AND PRESENT THROUGHOUT.

The Dominoes (also sometimes known as Billy Ward & the Dominoes) had one of the finest musical pedigrees of any R&B vocal group of the 1940s, at least based on its founder's training and experience. A lots of R&B acts came out of a gospel background, and Bo Diddley even studied violin as a boy, but rare is the R&B vocal group whose founder was trained at Juilliard. Billy Ward (born September 19, 1921, Los Angeles) had a minister father and a musician mother, and was a musical prodigy as a child, schooled in classical music theory and composition as well as performance.
