----------------- BitMo™ Dapper Devil™ ---------------
Mod Kit for the Blackheart Handsome Devil BH15 Amp (Amp is not included ;^) Well, Mr. Belov has really done it this time! The Blackheart Handsome Devil BH15 is a serious “grown up” 15 watt amp with some real big ones. You can definitely gig with this amp. The BitMo Dapper Devil mods start by upgrading coupling, tone and bright caps. It then goes on to add a switch with 3 different voicings, making the amp much more versatile. The 1st position is the (upgraded) stock configuration. The middle position (my favorite) offers an open, muscular tweed tone with a ton of clean headroom (and no tone stack phase anomalies). The 3rd position slathers on a dollop of fatback overdrive that can go from that famous BitMo chocolaty brown cello sound to a tight, biting boost. All 3 voicings are very touch sensitive and great across the full range of the volume control going from warm or sparkly clean to balzout overdrive with lots of interesting shades in between. The amp comes in both head and combo versions and has separate DRIVE and LEVEL (master) controls, a full 3-band tone stack, a PRESENCE/cut control and a 7/15 watt switch. The transformers are really beefy probably do not need to be replaced. The circuit board is a great platform for modding with decent components, wide spacing and robust traces. The stock speaker in the combo is well matched and these mods have been tuned to it. The amazing thing is that, with these mods, you can have an amp that really covers all the bases. It has some of the juiciest clean tones in its class, with fantastic usable loud headroom – great with a pedal board. The overdrive is also 1st class and very controllable, especially with the amp’s LEVEL (master volume) control and a really cool PRESENCE/CUT control. You can get great distortion at any volume. I have some great classic amps in my collection and this is one of the best!
