Up for sale is a ANTIQUE WASHSTAND with a granite top made by GREAT WESTERN WORKS of Cincinnati, Ohio. This stand is in fair but restorable condition. The stand alone measures approximately 29”W x 28 1/2"T x 16”D and the granite top is approximately 30 1/2"W x 9 5/8”T (at the backsplash) x 17”D. The washstand has an overall height of 38 1/4” at the backsplash. The top also has two sides which are a little loose right now but have screws to tighten them down. There are several scratches in the top surface. Some blend because of the dark color. The back of the top is marked “GREAT WESTERN MARBLE WORKS – CINNCINNATI, OHIO”.

We listed this stand as being from 1900-1950 but there is a good chance that this stand was made prior to 1900. The Great Western Marble Works company does not have a lot of information that could be found but what we could find showed that this company operated the late 1800’s to no later than 1920 from what we could find. The wood base does have characteristics of late 1800’s furniture so it is very possible. Underneath the top on the wood surface are the letters “KLR Co.” We were unable to locate any information on this company. There is also a towel rod that can retract all the way into the base. This can be seen on the right side of the base.

Please note that one of the six drawer slides is missing. An example can be seen inside the drawer on of the drawer pictures. Only one is really still mounted well. The others are off. There is veneer damage on the sides of the drawers and also the top lock has come out of the drawer but you can see it is still included. Please view all pictures carefully as we are selling this as-is. Even in its condition it is restorable and would make a fine piece after the fact. Don’t miss out on this antique washstand!

This shipping rate applies to areas west of Denver, south of Dallas, south of Atlanta and east of Albany, NY and Danbury, CT. If you live near some of these cities or closer to Illinois you can get this shipped for $85. If you somewhere around the limits feel free to get a quote to know for sure what your rate will be. Any item picked up in Illinois or shipped or delivered to an Illinois address is subject to 7.25% sales tax. Only in the event that this item is being shipped out of state can we remove the sales tax.
