BLACK BAMBOO PLANT (Phyllostachys nigra)

Beautiful tropical green foliage on jet black stems/culms growing 15 to 20' tall.  Excellent as a privacy screen - tall hedge or as a decorative specimen plant in a Japanese garden, etc.  This rapid growing runner type bamboo grows well in full sun or partial.  Hardy zones 8 - 11  and once established they are low maintenance and require watering only in the very driest conditions.  The Bamboo plants pictured in our store listing represents what the mature plants will look like - for additional pictures check out the our store listing.

The potted plant in this photo represents what will be shipped ...it has 3 to 4 rooted stalks that are 24 to 36" tall.   The fast growing transplants with green stems will turn black as they mature in 6 months to a year.  Usually we try to include a black stem when available.

 Plants are shipped Monday - Wednesday bare root Priority Mail in 38x6x6 boxes.
