SAROUK

      Sarouk is located on the western part of Iran. The town is largely known for its well-known carpet industry. Sarouk weavers have been producing some of the most exquisite carpets in Persian history.
      The carpets are of fine quality, with their wool carefully prepared using good quality dyes. Sarouk rugs incorporate a large central medallion with ornamental pendants and corner pieces mirroring a section of the central medallion. Although the designs are fundamentally floral, they are angular in execution. Soft, lustrous, Dark Blue and Red, as well as highlights of Green, Olive, Fawn, Peach and off-white are the most commonly used colors.
      Nowadays, Sarouks are made in the traditional and excellent old designs. Scaled blue prints are extensively used to assure quality. Sarouk rug are made to be extremely durable, capable of handling heavy traffic.
      American and Europeans always admired Sarouk rugs and imported a great number of them into the USA in the early 1900’s. Many of those rug are antique and being traded in galleries at very high prices.
