Once this powerball is activated (via the string that comes with it OR your thumb--with some practice), it starts to glow blue. My Personal Testimony:

I purchased one of these babies at the end of 2006 and love it! I initially bought one because I was having soreness in my wrists (the onset of carpel tunnel, I was afraid), and this product strengthens your wrists and helps prevent this type of repetitve strain injury. I use the powerball everyday and could tell increased strength even only after a couple weeks. I haven't had any pain at the keyboard lately either, for which I am thankful! 

This powerball can be upgraded with a speedometer (a device that measures your RPMs and stores your record).
