These beautiful blue fowl originated in Andalusia, a province of Spain, but have long been known in England and the United States. Blue-laced plumage that marks them as an especially fine breed for exhibition. The ideal feather color is slate blue with a narrow lacing of darker blue. The male has a cape of lustrous blue-black, sometimes shading almost to a dove gray, and feathers from this are fine material for tying artificial flies. Shanks and toes are blue. Andalusian hens are fine layers of white eggs with very little broodiness. Both sexes have long, deep bodies, which are well proportioned. Larger than Leghorns, about the same as Minorcas.
A flock of these beautiful blue birds is such a lovely sight... You will be proud to own them..... as we are...The rooster to hen ratio in this coop is 5-15 ...fertility is never an issue......These are young, first year layers..healthy and active...as with all chickens, eggs will mature in size as hens do.... Our best trio will be shown this Summer.
(Photos below are of our actual birds)
THE COLOR BLUE: A unique genetic feature of this breed is the constant recurrence in the offspring of not only all blue chicks, but also the black, white, and black-white colors used in the original matings many generations ago to produce these blue birds. All of these chicks carry the blue genes and when mated black on white or with other blues in turn produce many blue offspring. In our breeding flocks, however, only blue males of the finest color are used. Approximately 50% of the baby chicks will be all blue. The other 50% will be black, white, and black/white combinations. |
You will receive 10+ fertile eggs. We have had 99-100% fertility and check daily........I will include free extras to compensate for any mishaps that may occur in shipping or the incubation process. | | |

Just wanted to let you know out of the last batch I got from you I got five beautiful babies. I just love these chickens. In the first batch I got from you the rooster is spoiled rotten. When my husband and I go to the pen we have to pick him up and cuddle with him. He likes to cuddle against my husbands neck and go to sleep, so while I am feeding and watering the others my husband is holding Blackie and letting him sleep. It is a wonder. This last batch of babies are something else. I had one baby from another breed that was having trouble standing so I took him out of the big box and put him in the smaller box with the Australorps and they are a bunch of mother hens. They kept it from rolling over and made it get up and walk. I have learned if you need help with another baby just put them with the australorps and they will be fine.
Thanks Angelica
