It  is very bright indeed(10,000mCD) and can be seen for nearly over a mile away! The beam emerges in a 10° cone so it remains pretty focused and is functional  to a distance of around 10m-12m. It's powered by two CR2016 3v lithium cells which are included and are replaceable. It has a 2 switch function: Press switch and on/off switch, which makes things a little easier if you need to operate it for a longer period of time.

 

 

I have sold many of these keyrings to friends and family as they have all found them very useful to have on their car/door keys, parents have brought them for their kids as well for night time reading, also an added bit of security for low light/night time.
