The Open Door of Delta is approaching its 5th anniversary. The former grocery store was converted to a community center through the hard work of volunteers age 60 and older. The community rallied behind the project donating money to complete the work. The ministry bought the building from a local business owner and the local bank gave them the financing needed. The 15 member volunteer board is made up of ministers, business persons, volunteers who work in the operations of the Thrift Shop and local school officials. Approximately 148 volunteers give of their time to keep the store operational 35 hours each week. Volunteers also operate the food pantry and youth ministry.  Each EBAY purchase helps the The Open Door Thrift Store take one step closer to their goals in helping others in the area.
