When Carsten Jørgensen designed the Corona dinnerware line for Bodum years ago he told
us right off that making dinnerware for everyday use is much more difficult than making a
prestigious dinnerware used only for festive occasions.

You have to look at it every day...
It goes in and out of the dishwasher several times a day...
It is walked to and from the table by busy hands...
It must not cost a fortune...

His design suggestions were:
Make it of the good old porcelain used in hotels for centuries...
Make it with a heavy rim to avoid chipping and give you a sensible
feeling when drinking from a mug or a glass...
Make it a simple shape without too many edges and corners...
Make handles solid and big because a family counting all ages with different abilities uses it...
It is made for humans by one who cares for the details in daily life!

That's why you print Bodum on the bottom!
