Bonecrusher songs wear attitude like a badge of honor and rub it in your face. This is one of southern California's most respected bands, and they didn't get there by writing wimpy punk tunes. If you've heard Bonecrusher before, then you know the music sounds like a gang of ornery souls who sound as though they've lived through years of struggle and nagging toil - and they really have, despite the fact they can call Huntington Beach, Ca. their hometown. Bonecrusher never disappoints even the most demanding listener, their energy and anger evident on each song they put to tape. Their rare live appearances were a challenge from the beginning, and the band's in-yer-face antagonism often made it difficult for the them to find gigs. By the Summer of '96 they were banned by most of the local Orange County clubs. But their reputation as one of the area's most intense and confrontational live bands continued to grow. Their gigs at the Clipper in Long Beach are nothing short of legendary, often inspiring swirling waves of manic pit terror. After booking them a string of memorable gigs, Outsider released the "Angry Youth" 7 inch single on red vinyl at the end of 1997. This 3 track single was extremely well received, especially overseas where the band has a cult following. Soon they were recording a single every couple of months, each one raging with their distinct brand of pissed-off punk rock. "The Singles Collection" gathers all the A & B sides from these rare out-of-print 7 inch platters, and comes superbly packaged with an extensive booklet of live photos and song lyrics. 18 songs of loud, proud American punk thatÕs been compared to Agnostic Front and Iron Cross meeting up with British Oi! punk bands like The Business and Anti-Nowhere League and Blitz. These guys deserve everything that comes their way. Despite the struggle they continue the fight - and their fanbase gets stronger and more committed with each new release.
