This is a copy of the original BOY COMMANDOS NO. 1 (1942) by the great team of Joe Simon and Jack Kirby. 68 pages. 7.5" wide by 10.25" high... big Golden-Age book! Four BOY COMMANDOS stories by S&K plus the very first appearance and origin of the superheroine LIBERTY BELLE by Chuck Winter and Don Cameron. And, in the story "Satan Wears A Swastika" Simon and Kirby themselves appear as well as THE NEWSBOY LEGION and THE SANDMAN! Pretty cool! Book is flat with cover gloss, wear down the spine reinforced with magic mending tape (nice job- hardly noticed), wear along top, bottom and side minimal, back cover inset from front a quarter inch plus due to spine roll tho book is flat. Front cover creased. Someone wrote the word "comics" in black ink below cover logo, then it smeared. The letter "S" is hand-written in black ink in the upper left corner. Inside pages are off-white and very supple. Nice printing thruout. Back cover is FULL COLOR ad for DC Comics displaying 8 covers including ALL-STAR 14, GREEN LANTERN 5, WONDER WOMAN 2, ALL-FLASH 8, WORLD'S FINEST 8, BATMAN 14 and SUPERMAN 20. Inside back cover has 8 DIFFERENT covers in B&W house ad including SENSATION 13, DETECTIVE 71, FLASH 37, ACTION 56, ALL-AMERICAN 46, ADVENTURE 82, STAR SPANGLED 16, MORE FUN 87!
