BRASS HO Samhongsa Key D&RGW (PA/PB/PA) 3-Unit Set F/P

All Brass HO Scale Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad (D&RGW) Alco PA1/PB1/PA1 3-Unit Passenger Diesel Models from Samhongsa/Key Imports. A magnificent and hard to find HO scale all brass 3-unit set of Denver & Rio Grande Western's Alco PA1/PB1/PA1 models in the original as-delivered paint scheme. The prototype locomotives (real life engines) were built by American Locomotive Company (ALCO) immediately after WWII for many U.S. mainline railroads including Rio Grande to handle premier passenger traffic assignments, such as the famous California Zephyr. Many consider the PA's, especially in a 3-unit (A-B-A) arrangement, the most glamorous and beautiful passenger diesel locomotives ever graced the American rail landscape. This 3-unit set is manufactured and hand assembled by the master craftsmen of Samhongsa in Korea for Key Imports as Custom Series #83 limited edition models in the early 1990's. Samhongsa, well known for producing super detailed scale brass models, has ceased its brass model manufacturing business a few years ago, so these exquisite models are the must have's for the D&RGW modeler and collector. Accurately detailed with all brass construction and quality workmanship, the models have also been beautifully factory painted in the origial black and yellow paint scheme with 3-stripes. Furthermore, the A-units have cab interior and working directional headlights plus lighted side numberboards and all units have glazed cab windows. All three units are powered, each by a quality can motor with dual all wheel drive gearboxes. There is plenty of power to pull a prototypical length passenger train consist. The models have been fully tuned to run very smooth and quiet, just like a Swiss watch. In mint condition with original box and foam which are also in great condition.
