Each Brass Rubbing is a hand made original.

This is a hand made rubbing of The Celtic Circle created with metallic gold wax crayon on a special black rag paper.I have framed it in an attractive wood frame that has an inside dimension of 12" X 12" and an outside measurement of 15" X 15". The  design is from a page of the gospel of St. Matthew in the Book of Kells, probably the most splendid early Medieval illuminated manuscript still surviving. This design consists of five interlacing birds and ten reptiles or serpents with topknots and tails. The design is 8 1/2 inches in diameter.

The engraving from which this rubbing was taken is from an exhibition featured at The Washington National Cathedral by The London Brass Rubbing Centre and has more recently been on a National tour as part of their brass rubbing workshop. Rubbings like this one, hand made by one of their craft instructors, make unusual and interesting gifts. I will send it to you already framed in this nice wood frame.
