ITEM DESCRIPTION & DETAILS:
This Brayton Laguna Flower Cart is HUGE! Made in the 1950's Brayton Laguna was one of the first companies to combine and contrast tooled brown-stained bisque (the wood look) with glossy glazes on figures. The cart is in the brown, with white and yellow flowers and birds and red hearts on the wheels and the front. It is a gloss oatmeal brown inside. This would be a great addition to a Brayton Laguna California Pottery collection.
MARKINGS:
It is impressed on the bottom: BRAYTON LAGUNA CALIF. & J 19. It also has what looks like an artists mark of S.
MEASUREMENTS:
The Cart is 9" x 4 3/4" and 5 1/8" tall.
CONDITION:
This Flower Cart is in excellent condition. It appears to have never been used. Probably put away somewhere and forgotten. It is so great to find this kind of item in such good shape after all this time. A coating of glaze generally strengthens ware, so figurines that have large unglazed (bisque) areas, like this one, are more susceptible to breakage. Therefore it is even more amazing to see one of this age and size in this great a condition.
I try to describe the item as accurately as possible. Please email with any questions. I will combine items from my other auctions to save on shipping.
I have required insurance added to my invoices. You may choose to opt out of the insurance. All items are very carefully packaged, but I can not be responsible for their handling after they leave my care.
