Here is a 500-reis coin struck in silver in 1889 by the South American nation of Brazil. Cataloged as KM 494, these coins were made of 90 percent silver, each containing .1446 of an ounce of the metal.

The coin appears to have sufficient details for a grade of "fine." However, grading is inherently subjective, and your opinion might be different. Be sure to look closely at our photos and do your own evaluation of the coin's condition.

The 500 reis of 1889 is offered with a reasonable starting bid, no reserve and a minimal charge for shipping and handling.
