Bridgewater was  first settled in 1650 as Nunkatateset, part of Duxbury and officially incorporated in 1656 as Bridgewater. The town seal includes the Bridgwater, England coat of arms. According to Wikipedia, the exact origin of the town's name is unknown. However, it has been speculated that  that the origin of the name could be from when the town was first settled, because the only way to enter from the south was by going over the Taunton River. At its greatest historical extent, the town included large parts of the modern towns of Abington, West Bridgewater, East Bridgewater, Brockton, Pembroke, and Hanson.
Large black cloth patch with gold border.  Patch appears to be in new and unused condition.   A  wonderful addition to any patch collection. US buyers pay $1.50 flat rate shipping & handling fee!
