This 1924-S Silver Peace Dollar graded CHOICE MS63 by NGC is much better struck than most specimens from this mintage that I've handled, with a great amount of detail in all the high points on both the obverse and reverse devices. The fields are wonderfully smooth with a soft bronze hue on the obverse and towards the centers of the reverse. Embedded into the beauty of this piece is a wonderfully eye-catching cartwheel shine that simmers through the brilliant luster of this silver specimen.

In 1924, the San Francisco Mint produced just over 1.7 million Peace Dollars. Most of this mintage was lost to circulation or destroyed during the massive bullion melts of the 1930s. Only a small fraction have survived to in high choice-grade condition like the coin being offered here today. 

Coin World Trends currently lists a value of $550 for the 1924-S Peace Dollar graded choice MS63 -- less than a third of the cost of the MS64, yet with the excellent quality and eye-appeal you'd expect from a choice-grade coin!
