BRONZE / BRASS HORSE HOOF INKWELL

Presented is an unusual brass or bronze horse hoof inkwell. I believe this ink well is bronze.

This piece is realistically stylized. It is very well made and quite heavy.

The ceramic insert that sits inside the hoof and holds the ink is stamped E. Wolff and Son London.

The insert is chipped on the rim and the glaze is nicely crackled. There are some minor scratches on the surface of the hoof.

This piece is about 2.5 inches high. It was made in the late 1800's.
