You're bidding on a genuine Celtic bronze ring money from the second Celtic Iron Age known as "La Tene." This was during the 4th  and 5th centuries B.C. Before the round, filled coins were introduced to the Celts, they used rings of bronze, silver and gold as a means of currency. Some people refer to these as "proto-money" where "proto" just means before.

Quick History Lesson On the Celts.
There is a lot of mixed and confusing information about the Celts out there. I think many people will relate Celts to Ireland. The Celts were not just limited to Ireland. They actually settled all across Europe. There was no vast empire. Actually, the Celts did not even refer to themselves as Celts. The word "Celts" was just used by the Greeks and others to classify a variety of tribes living throughout West and East Europe. The Gauls of France that battled Julius Caesar were also Celts. As I understand it, this ring money was found somewhere on the East side of Europe along the Danube River.

What's cooler than owning a 2400 year old coin? Celtic ring money is especially fascinating. You can place one on a chain and no drilling is necessary. Show off a great artifact without ruining it's value! I personally wear one as a necklace.  I used to wear one as a ring as well but it slipped off in the ocean.  If you ever find a ring money at Daytona Beach in Florida, it's not some amazing discovery that the Celts discovered America--you just found my lost ring!
