This is an old pink duck cookie jar made by Brush/McCoy. This pattern was retired in 1956, but I believe this to be older than that.
This adorable pink duck cookie jar had hand painted eyes that were over the glaze which are almost scrubbed down now. The glazing has a very uneven crackle. The bottom portion of the jar shows obvious crackle of glaze and brown discoloration. The top portion is in much better condition. I am not seeing this problem when looking at the duck lid. Please see the photo where 'cookie' is printed.
This old cookie jar measures approximately 10 1/4" in height. The open rim and bottom diameter measures 5 1/4", but appears to have close to 6" at widest point of bowl.
This old cookie jar is in fantastic condition. I am seeing one small chip at the top rim. With old pottery, I do expect glazing problems as you will see with this cookie jar. However, I am finding no other obvious damage.
This is an adorable cookie jar that is a piece of the past. I start the auction at a low price, which is no reflection of true value.
