Here's a wonderful find from the BUFFALO POTTERY of Buffalo, New York and circa 1910. This is a complete 22 pc child's teaset with the violet decal decoration. This set was offered in the BUFFALO POTTERY catalog from 1904 to 1918. (reference is Seymour and Violet Altman, THE BOOK of BUFFALO POTTERY, Schiffer Publishing). These pieces bear no marks, but examples of all the individual shapes are illustrated in the reference. The set consist of 6 cups, 6 saucers, 6 snack plates, creamer, covered sugar, waste bowl and teapot (24 pieces if you count the lids.). The set is in generally excellent condition, with the following exceptions. One snack plate was apparently in 5 pieces and reglued. One cup has two small rim chips. One saucer has a 1/8" rim chip and another saucer has a 1/4" factory glazed over rim chip. There is some light wear to the decals on a few of the pieces. The largest piece, the teapot, stands 4-1/4" tall and is pictured individually in the second photo. Lovely set in generally outstanding condition.
