BURIED ALIVE (BLUE OMEGA) Very Rare Big Box BETAMAX!!!

GUARANTEED GOOD CONDITION and PRIOR RENTAL extreeemely rare NTSC BETAMAX video "BIG BOX" release by "Thriller Video" dated to 1981 of director Joe D'amato's nauseating barf-bagger psycho pervert movie BLUE OMEGA, shown here under its original North American home video release title BURIED ALIVE (also known as BEYOND THE DARKNESS, THE FINAL DARKNESS, and BLUE HOLOCAUST) with Kieran Carter as the sociopathic pervert who likes to bring home random pretty girls for menages with his dead, eviscerated and embalmed wife. He then murders them when they act with understandable revulsion and his doting housekeeper Iris (Franca Stoppi) helps him chop up the bodies and dissolve them in vats of acid. Believe it or not, the most disgusting scene in the film involves someone eating a plate of stew. With Sam Modesto, poor Anna Cardini, Lucia D'Elia, and Mario Pezzin. Musical score by Goblin.

NTSC BETAMAX Prior Rental release from 1981, the real McCoy. I still remember my brother and one of his friends renting the exact VHS version of this release when we were in high school and we all sat there with our jaws hanging open in disbelief -- the cover is unforgettable. This is also a BIG BOX slipcased pressing with the original clamshell protection case inside housing the tape. Pictures are the actual item and a few additional views of the sides of the box with my name added to the eBay image only to prevent their re-use in making forgeries. The slipcase can house either a VHS or Betamax tape, and the oversized decorated case is in what I would term as very good condition with minimal shelf wear to the top & bottom and no light fading, creases or rips. Only one sticker on the side of the box (the gold oval with BETA in it on the side panel shown) and one insignificant stock number tag on the spine of the tape itself. Great collectible for the Joe D'amato / Italian horror enthusiast and/or fellow collectors of Big Box tapes.

Purchased used from the local Beta Barn when they finally switched over to DVD in 2003 after twenty years of Betamax only rentals -- we are kind of behind the times here in this burg -- though since I don't have a Betamax player I've actually never watched it and as you can see in the picture the knucklehead who had it last didn't even bother rewinding it all the way, and I don't have any way to do it either so that's why it's not rewound. In exactly the same condition as when I acquired it, has been sitting on a shelf with my Big Box collection but frankly I'm not a big fan of this movie and would like to pass it along to another collector. Probably worth it for the condition of the box alone, which again is sized to fit either Beta or VHS.
