2.5 mil ESTAR Base (Panatomic-X)
Excellent Dimensional Stability & Tear Resistance.

IT IS  A STANDARD B&W PANCHROMATIC FILM.
You will get a full tonal range as with off the shelf films, PLUS it develops in any B&W Chemistry BUT IT DOES MUCH MORE ....

BEST of ALL AERO HAS:
(A) EXTENDED RED SENSITIVITY Which means unlike regular Panatomic-X & similar films, This CUTS THROUGH HAZE! NO Longer will you "LOSE" That Mountain Range or Bench in the Hazy Park! But it behaves the same as any similar type panchromatic film.
(B) HEAVIER SILVER than what you are now shooting. Which means you have Greater EXPOSURE & DEVELOPMENT LATITUDE, etc. You will get Deeper, Richer Images. And if you ever goof you have a better chance of salvaging your image.
C) INEXPENSIVE CHEAP Enough to Enjoy & Experiment with.
(D) ESTAR Base Stiffer than common acetate, keeps film in proper plane. Dimensionally Stable. Resists Stretching or Shrinking!

USE AERO FILM for:
(1) PANORAMIC PHOTOS.* Cost ONLY $2.50 per roll compared to $28 or so for 4 & 5 in Cirkut Camera film.*
(2) LARGE FORMAT. 4x5 to 10x20! Backing provides STIFFNESS. Typical costs 13+¢ per 4x5! 23+¢ per 5x7!
(3) ROLL FILM * 120, 220, 127, 616, 828, Etc. Your Cost around 60¢ per ROLL! Not difficult to trim. (Easy Instructions from Users Available!) *
(4) EXPERIMENT! Make a PINHOLE CAMERA out of an Oatmeal Box. (Even an UNDERWATER One! Ask How!) And Much More!
(5) INFRARED TYPE PHOTOS Use a Red #25 Filter. Gives a pseudo Infrared picture that's easier to get correct exposure than a "1" infrared.
* Reuse your old backing paper or order new Exeter Paper. See our link for info Click here for Info!

More film Qualities & Info:

This film is outstanding for any type of Photography.
It handles the same way as regular Kodak Panatomic-X Film or similar film.
Which is what it is, With some Enhancements.

Emulsion-wise, You cannot buy this type of film any more for Love Or Money.

Let me take these Enhancements one at a time.

(1st) Much MORE SILVER Content than most of today's "Wimpy", Touchy, Films. A Real Pleasure just to Relax & Shoot...

Many of Today's fine grain films are as Demanding as is Slide Film.

* Your exposure has to be right on (1/2 stop)
* Your developing Time has to be Precise.
* Your Temperature right on (1/2 degree)
* & the temperature between the baths has to be close.

This is an Old Workhorse Film with a very forgiving emulsion.
It was special ordered a few years ago to the 80's heavy silver specs but with today's emulsion improvements. The best of both worlds.

You will get more Detail in the Shadow area without blocking the highlights.
And Fantastic Detail in both
Highlights & Shadow; and Fine Grain Too!

Myself, my Friends & Fellow Fotographers haven't tested every emulsion out there but have most of them.

Some of us use Densitometers & Computers to analyze the results, but most of us use the Old Eyeball method & large magnification.

When you start Shooting & Processing this Great Film you will think you died & went to Fotographers Heaven.

When I spoke to an Old Timer Tech at Kodak (Yes, I actually reached someone who knew what they were talking about & on the 1st try.)
He said this Film will last for at least 20 years if refrigerated.
However if Frozen, our Grandchildren will be shooting it. :-)

For Table Tops or for Scenics (& anything in between) you will definitely see a difference
compared to Regular Panatomic-X Type Films from any manufacturer.
I recommend starting at an ASA of 25 - 50

It can be Pushed or Pulled Developed better than almost any other emulsion available.
The exception possibly may be Verichrome Pan. But it now has a very thin Silver emulsion.
So it's probably not better but may be the closest to this Aero Panatomic-X.

(2nd) Extended Red Sensitivity (Please Note: This is NOT an Ortho Film) It just cuts through Haze.

It Captures images in B&W just like any other similar Panchromatic Film.
Not like Ortho Film. It captures the Full Tonal Range
.

But it's Sensitivity also extends into the Far Red region (Or Near Infra-Red).

This was so it could capture a Full Panchromatic Image from High in the sky while a
component in the emulsion acted as a Ultra-Haze filter to cut through the Excessive
Blue at High Altitudes.

I have Fotogs that bought this film for Large Format Table tops or Copying.
All have cut it down & loaded it for their 120 & 220 roll cameras, or 4x5 Cameras.
So they could shoot this great film in all their cameras.

Even had one guy that like it so much, he found a place that would trim & perforate it for his 35 mm camera.

However if you ever shoot Scenics with this film you'll be hooked. Unbelievable Clarity, even in the Mountains.

In fact another Plus with this Great Film:
If you use a Haze Filter you can actually capture an image with Less Fog than you saw.
This wasn't measured "Scientifically" but I shot this in the Great Smoky Mountains &
this is what appeared to have happened when I compared my detailed notes to the completed photos.
Isn't that great... What creative control !
Capture what you see, or with proper filtration, Less Fog OR More Fog.

Just visualize that you are up in the Mountains in the AM & see a cabin just below you in the hollow. A little fog wisps around the sides of the Cabin.. A beautiful image.
You shoot it on a Panchromatic film, develop it and.... No Cabin... Just fog....
(Panchromatic Film is more sensitive to Blue Light than our eyes are.)
And if you used a Haze filter you may still have gotten more Haze than you saw or wanted.

With this Aero Panatomic-X basically what you see is what you get.

Or if mountains aren't your bag, Picture a Park Bench in an early morning fog.
Just visible, a great shot. Same results as with the mountain.

BTW: These were all actual real life scenarios.

(3rd) ESTAR BASE is MORE RIGID than Acetate & it Resists STRETCHING, SHRINKING or BUCKLING!!!
