Our US shipping policy goes like this:
USPS Priority Mail for all orders that fit in a box 12" square and under.
USPS Parcel post for all items that fit in a box 14" square and over.
United Parcel Service for all larger and heavier items (boxes over 16" square and irregular in size). 
Paintings, prints and other large pieces are shipped using the best carrier on a case by case basis.
