Offered is a half pint blue Ball Perfect Mason jar. The jar was produced between 1910-1923.

The color is turquoise blue. The lettering is perfect embossing...no wear. The Perfect Mason is centered.  On the bottom of the jar is a 9 underscored.

The zinc lid is a little worn outside but the Ball signature can be read. The inside porcelain is completely intact and also reads “GENUINE ZINC CAP FOR BALL MASON JARS.” The lettering is quite clear and totally readable.  The jar is 3 3/4 inches tall to the top of the jar.

There are no chips or cracks. The threads are perfect.  There is some roughness on the lip of the jar, but this is to be expected in a jar this old.   This jar is in excellent condition.   This is an original vintage jar.  The seams or mold marks run all the way up to the lip of the jar.  Also, this jar was acquired from the basement of an abandoned building about 35 years ago, so I know that it is old.  This is a great addition to a collection of old fruit jars.

I added two more pictures, showing that the mold lines continue all the way to the top of the jar.

A: The glass of the lip is rough all the way around. There is one place that I guess is a chip. The best I can tell, the largest spot is about a 3/16" chip on the inside edge of the lip only. It does not carry to the top... Continue reading
