Ancient Greece is a rock land with hundreds of island scattered over the brilliant blue Aegean, Adriatic, and Ionian Seas.  Here flourishes a great civilization that will last over a thousand years.  Democracy rules in many city-states, but some places are ruled by a king.

In one royal state, the beautiful daughter of the king lives happily.  Her palace is divided into the andron, and area fro the men, and the gynaikion, an area for the women.  The princess loves to spend time in the courtyard where she plays with boardgames and tops.  She also likes the game knucklebones, which is like jacks.  Because she is a princess, she can read and write.

The princess wears a long and flowing robe called a chiton.  It is made of two rectangles fastened by pins or jeweled clips.  When it's cold, she wears a clock called a himation.  It is fashionable for women to look pale and delicate, so the princess wears white powder. 

Princess of Ancient Greece Barbie dolls pays tribute to this classical age dressed in a rippled, copper-colored chiton.  Her golden arm cuff features a serpent design.  Because she is a princess, she wears a beautifull golden crown made of "laurel leaves".
