She is one of the first 1999 dolls to feature sculpting with leaner features, fuller lips, and meticulous face paint that adds personality and helps bring her to life!

This doll, issued in 1998, is one of the most outstanding Barbies with her quilted skirt, frilled denim shirt cowboy hat and boots, and Western style Concho earrings.
"In the 1800s, women headed to the highly romanticized wild, wild West. They traded their frilly, Victorian fashions for more practical, functional, Western wear befitting the lifestyle of those early times and, in the process, created a whole new style. Dressed in a Western outfit inspired by that world of practicality, Western Plains Barbie welcomes her friends and family to an old-fashioned evening of good food, singing and dancing at the big ranch. Standing tall in her multicolored boots, she tips back her wide brimmed hat to reveal long brown hair framing her pretty face and baby blue eyes that seem to sparkle in the moonlight. From the first country song to the last, Barbie won't sit down! Her skirt will twirl and her boots will scoot, and the spirit of the Wild West will come alive again."
