Cast from Rathbones face then styled to capture him as Sherlock Holmes
BASIL RATHBONE (1892 - 1967 ) Film fans will always think of Rathbone as the eccentric Sherlock Holmes, a role he played 16 times. What a profile and there is no better way to apreciate it than enjoying this mask. In other films
he almost always played a villain, including the evil Sir Guy where he engaged Errol Flynn in the most exciting sword duel ever put on film.
This started with an actual life cast mask of Rathbone that was taken for the Sherlock Holmes film The Spider Woman. In the film Holmes explains he had the mask made to create a sleeping Holmes in bed to lure the suicide murderer to act. Then it has been sculpturaly enhanced by me Erick Erickson.
The Hair ears and eye brows have been added to create a very lifelike display. Even the trademark Deer Stalker hat and Ascot have been faithfully recreated.
I sculpted the eyes open showing expresion and added the costume.
All of the original detail of the historic cast has been preserved.
So the work of art you get has a direct link to Basil Rathbone.
It's like having him right there with you.

I watched The Hound of the Baskervilles while I sculpted to further infuse the spirit of Basil Rathbone.
The finished piece is cast in USG's Tuf-Cal gypsum cement, it is fiber filled and has polymer additves to assure it will last forever.
It measures 12" High X 7" Wide X 7" Deep.
It is aproximatly 6 3/4 pounds unpacked.
It is finished in Black and White so it looks like the movies.
The piece is then sealed with a clear coat to preserve the finish.
Each mask comes with hanging instructions and the screw.
