Basket Set: 2 Mini Baskets Carved from Peach Pits

Up for auction is a set of two small carved miniature baskets carved out of peach pits. Each one has a little handle and is in the shape of a tiny flower basket. I don't know when these particular baskets were made, but there was a fad for carving little baskets and other small whimsies of peach pits in the early years of the 1900's. Both baskets are nicely made, and each is so well-balanced that it will stand upright without support. This set of whimsical little miniature baskets will make a great addition to someone's collection.

The baskets, as noted, are both miniatures, measuring just ¾" across at the widest point, and 1" tall to the top of the handle. These nice vintage baskets are in super-nice condition - I have examined them carefully and am pleased to report that they are in excellent shape with no breaks, stains, or any damage whatsoever. See photos, as they give a true picture of the baskets' condition, and be sure to check out the photo of them with a dime. Very nice little minis!
