I was expecting a spraypaint kinda finish like a crappy affinity squier. I'm a guitar player, and I didn't want to spend alot on a bass, I sure am glad I didn't get a squier for twice the price (also made in china by the way), which I seriously considered. I needed a bass for recording. I had a Peavey Fury which I reviewed but traded it to a friend for a car. So I bought this after seeking out several offers. It has a very nice tone. The basswood helps. THe pickup is not bad either. It basically sounds and plays like a Fender precision bass. No joke!!! Very versatile sounds, bright to warm/full. Nothing to bag on this bass.
