This Bates Isabell 17" seat dressage saddle is in fantastic condition, as you can see in the closeup photos.
The seat is very deep to keep you in the correct "sweet spot."
The extra long recessed stirrup bars allow your legs to drape naturally into position.
Buffalo hide textured leather makes this saddle have a luxurious look and helps keep your seat from "swimming" out of position.
Customize this saddle to your comfort with removable thigh blocks - this saddle comes with large thigh blocks that are secured with velcro backing. You can order different sizes of thigh blocks from any saddle maker that makes thigh blocks with velcro backing (Bates, Schlesse are the two that I am aware of). You can see the size of the large thigh blocks and the difference they make in two of the photos provided - one photo shows the saddle with and one shows the saddle without the thigh blocks.
Customize this saddle to each of your horses with the Easy Change Gullet System ($89 new). The entire set of six gullet sizes (X-tra wide, wide, medium-wide, medium, medium-narrow, and narrow) are included with the saddle purchase, but I ran out of photos space. (The medium-narrow gullet is in the saddle.) The gullet system is in its original package and includes the spare nuts, screws, and the instruction booklet. You can also see a video on how to change the gullet on the Bates website. All you need is a screwdriver, and once you have done it the first time, you can change the gullet size in less than 5 minutes. The gullet system also comes with a Gullet Gauge that you just set over your horse where the saddle will go, and the gauge automatically measures the gullet size you need for that particular horse.
This saddle has the CAIR air-filled panels for maximum comfort for your horse. My horse loves the air panals, but if you prefer wool, you can have the air replaced with wool flocking.
The Y-girth system properly distributes the saddle's weight to comfortably fit your horse's shape. You can see in the photo that the back girth billet can be adjusted under the flap to fit your horse's shape and evenly distribute the security of the saddle on your horse's back.
I have only ridden in this saddle for 8 months, and I am selling it to get a new Bates with CAIR and changable gullets in a different model (Caprilli with a slightly different seat). The Isabell sells for new anywhere from $2,300 to $2,660.
The saddle weighs about 20 pounds and the gullet system weights about 4 pounds; Assume the box and packaging weigh about 1 pound - so please calculate a shipping weight of 25 pounds.
For faster delivery and a seamless transaction, please use PAYPAL; no return. Shipping to United States only, please.
Thank you very much for looking.
I hope you soon find the right saddle for you and your horse.
