Technical Information
The Pulse Power Charging System incorporates a variety of features to make it a better charging solution. From its proprietary pulse charging technology to a complete line of critical communications batteries, the NABC Pulse Power Charging System provides its user’s with a comprehensive battery solution that increases the life of your batteries.
Unique Features of the NABC Pulse Power Charging System
- Single Adapter for Ni-Cd and Ni-MH Applications: NABC incorporates state-of-the-art micro-control technology in all Pulse Power Charging Systems, which does not require switching battery charging adapters when charging Nickel-Metal Hydride and Nickel Cadmium batteries
- Expandable and Adaptable Units that Charge Batteries Simultaneously or Independently: NABC Pulse Power multi-unit chargers (SMD Series) are expandable for charging 1 to 6 batteries while sharing a single power supply. This unique charging system has the capability to charge batteries independently or simultaneously. Each battery adapter cup has its own unique printed circuit board specifically configured for each battery type and model.
- Self Discharge, Monitoring and Automatic Restart Function: This feature restarts the charge sequence if the charged battery exhibits self-discharge (leakage) in excess of the NABC Pulse Power charger’s normal maintenance mode.
- Battery Temperature Monitoring During Charging: A temperature monitoring feature is built into all NABC Pulse Power Charging Systems. Many non-pulsed type chargers overcharge and overheat batteries during the charging process resulting in a shortened battery life. Monitoring the battery’s temperature increases safety and guards against failing or exploding batteries.
- Energy Efficient Low Temperature Charging: NABC makes use of efficient charging methodologies (rate of charge, type of power supply, etc.) resulting in less energy being wasted as heat during charging and long term maintenance. Less wasted energy means less overall costs. The amount of heat dissipated during charging is indicated by the dramatically smaller heat sink that NABC Pulse Power Charging Systems use.
- Non Latch-Up Temperature Sensing: NABC has designed this feature into all Pulse Power Charging Systems allowing the charging sequence to correctly modify the charging mode when a battery goes out of temperature (below 2°C. or above 45°C.). Some charging systems will shut down, or latch-up, and will not continue their charging sequence after the battery warms up or cools and reaches its normal operating range.
