For those that love the music of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, I'm offering a very special item on eBay.
Klaus
Voormann has been an integral part of the Beatles universe since the very
beginning. In the early
years, when the Beatles played Hamburg, Klaus became a friend to the band,
introducing them to Astrid Kirchherr and Jürgen Vollmer. These three friends helped the Beatles
in various ways- defining the “Beatles” haircut, documenting this period with superb photographs, creating some of the iconic images that
defined the group, and providing close friendship to the stars-yet-to-be.
Klaus
Voormann created the artwork for the “Revolver” album, one of the great
forerunners in the psychedelic music genre, Throughout the years with his friendship with the
Beatles, he’s shared housing with the band members, played on various solo
albums, and pursued his own musical career as a member of the Manfred Mann Band,
as wells as guest appearances on albums by Lou Reed, Carly Simon, James Taylor,
and Harry Nilsson among others.
In 1995
Klaus was asked by Apple Records to design the covers for The Beatles Anthology
albums. This lithograph
print entitled “The Making of the Beatles Anthology” not only displays the complete
album series, but also provides an overview of how this project came
together. These album covers
were designed and painted by Klaus with assistance from his friend, fellow
artist Alfons Kiefer.
This is a 16”
x 23.5” lithograph, hand signed & numbered limited edition of 555,
originally released in 2001 by the man himself. Each print includes a certificate acknowledging that was
indeed a limited edition print sold via the official Klaus Voormann website.
This print
is numbered #447. The autograph is in pencil by Klaus. This print is in excellent shape.
I can mail
it in a cardboard tube, or if you want to spend a little more for a special
flat cardboard container, I can do that too.
