These prints (or bookplates, really) come directly from the 1868 edition of The Grammar of Ornament. All the prints are still protected by their original tissue-guards. They are printed on one-side only on very high quality paper (almost card);

Condition Excellent. There is the very occasional, unobtrusive mark in the margins. Accurate, unedited scanned images are provided in each listing.

The rich  original colors are still vibrant.  These prints were made using the Chromo-lithography process. More Information

Remarks First published in 1856,  The Grammar of Ornament quickly became the standard bearing text in design and decoration in Britain. It brought together design and decorative traditions and styles from diverse parts of the world, present (to the mid-nineteenth century) and past. It is still used by design and decor students and professionals today.

Each of the prints on offer is an original book-plate from the 1868 Folio edition of the book. Each plate is till protected by its original tissue guard. A copy of the title page will be included and, upon request, scanned copies of the relevant text pages can be sent to you by e-mail.
